Detroit Zoo animals getting COVID-19 vaccine

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — Some animals are rolling up their fur for a COVID-19 vaccine on the Detroit Zoo.

The zoo in suburban Detroit stated its gorillas, chimpanzees, tigers and lions are getting a vaccine evolved via Zoetis, a veterinary drug corporate, and certified via the U.S. Agriculture Division. Different animals will observe.

“We’re each grateful and relieved a different vaccine is now to be had to offer protection to towards COVID-19,” stated Scott Carter, the zoo’s leader lifestyles sciences officer. “The animals automatically get different vaccinations.”

The zoo stated no COVID-19 infections were present in its animals.
